Oh Freedom Making Predictions Lesson

Read this passage from Oh, Freedom!, p. 33:

 

The case they used to make this challenge involved Linda Brown, a seven-year-old in Topeka, Kansas. Linda had to attend a black school far from home. To get there, she had to cross dangerous railroad tracks and ride a long way in a run-down school bus, even though there was a school for white children near her home.

 

Write a prediction about what you think this chapter is about. Read p. 31 - 49 and then write a response. Were you correct? What was surprising to you?
