Essential Question:  Why Nonviolence?  By the process of formulating an answer to that question, students will develop a real understanding of effective human and civil relations.  Students will need to do more than answer with a yes/no response.  Choosing nonviolence can be applied directly to a student's life.  Nonviolence is not only pertinent to Martin Luther King, Jr. in his era, but can be utilized by other individuals, groups, and states now and in the future.
